Staining concrete over paint splatter?

The third floor in my house is about to become a lounge area. We're thinking of staining the concrete floors, but were wondering if we could keep some of the paint splatters or even apply more for a textured, funky look. Has anyone ever done this?

I'm worried that not removing the paint may affect the way the stain settles.Staining concrete over paint splatter?
You have concrete floors on the third floor? Wow talk a about a sturdy house. Any imperfection of the surface of the cement will show through the paint. It will leave a bump that is visible. I just painted the cement floor in my basement and the imperfections in the cement show through but are much less noticeable now.Staining concrete over paint splatter?
The stain will not penetrate the paint and would look terrible. Either remove the paint splatters and stain or just paint the floor and then splatter colors on it.
