Will a ';diamond'; grinding cup wheel strip paint from concrete?

Can you use a ';diamond'; cup grinding wheel to strip paint from concrete? Will it do the job? I have a 4'; portable grinder. Will a ';diamond'; grinding cup wheel strip paint from concrete?
It will, but you have to be careful when you do it. It's easy for it to get away a little and gouge the wall. Take your time, and wear a mask and glasses. Hope this helps. Will a ';diamond'; grinding cup wheel strip paint from concrete?
Yes, it will strip paint easily, however, that is an expensive way to strip paint. The diamond cup wheel is for milling the concrete down, and I consider it overkill for stripping paint. They make a backer pad and course, medium and fine abrasive scratch pads that can be used on a high-speed 4 1/2 inch angle grinder. I use the fine pad mostly to remove paint from concrete without removing significant concrete with the paint. It comes off real fast (one pass) even with the fine pad. If you are in a hurry, use the course. I bought mine at Lowe's Home Improvement center.
It will work but the dust will be awful. Make sure you put dust walls at openings to your house the dust will cover everything. You could hook up a vacuum system at the grinder.Or look on line they have an attachment that mounts on the grinder and it does work. We bought 2 of them and there was 0% dust put out. Or you also look on line there is a product that is called peel away It is Eco. Friendly. We have used this product on our job site. Because the paint we were taking off had lead in it. Make sure that the paint does not have lead in it. They have this product at lowes that you can test the paint for lead. Good luck.
