How do I paint the concrete floors in my living room?

We took up the carpeting in our condo and have concrete underneath. We want to do a faux paint finish on the concrete but it has some paint overspray, adhesive and several cracks in it. What steps are necessary before I paint; what type of paint would I use and what type of clear finish would i use after painting? How do I paint the concrete floors in my living room?

Home Depot and Lowes sell a variety of different products for unfinished concrete floors.
Tile it with Sunrise Mexican Saltillo tile. I did, and it came out beautiful!
benjamin moore makes a floor and patio paint it is excellent. you will have to caulk any cracks in the floor first. no clear finish is necessary
Most hardware stores will give you advice.
If the floor is concrete, paint will look cheap. Put some real ceramic tiles on it. They will look beautiful and you can then use patch carpeting, or leave it bare.
