Need to paint the floor in an old warehouse and want to make sure I do it right.Whats the best way to paint a concrete floor?
The best floor paint i have found at a resonable price is from thefloorpaint.co.uk

Its 拢40 +VAT (拢47) for a 20Litre Tin. From what i have seen most places charge that for 5 Litres.

This paint is good stuff and did the job for me. Drop them a email or ring them. They may even paint the floor for you if ur near to them.Whats the best way to paint a concrete floor?
get a long handle usually the ones from a broom will do , a thick paint roller , make sure that the floor is clean before painting and you are all set to paint .

I owned a janitorial service for over 20 yr. Did many warehouse floors, both sealed and painted. The first step is to get it as clean as possible. If there is any oil scrubbing with a good degreaser is recommended. Lye and Trisodium phosphate works well. It will need thorough rinse. An acid wash may or may not be in order. Usually not. It should then be sealed. I always preferred solvent based sealer. Water based urethane's work ok too though.

Apply masonry paint with a roller. Most are epoxy based.

Some people do not seal the concrete first but you get better results and better coverage with the paint if you do.
For my concrete garage floor, I used Quikrete to paint over my old floor. The thing is, it's really easy. It comes with a paint and small decorative chips. You just paint the floor and sprinkle the floor with the decorative chips. Here's the website if you need more info:

if it is in an old warehouse you have only 1 choice and it is to use a 2 component epoxy paint. i don't know where you are so the best place i can tell you is a benjamin moore dealer. you have to make sure that the floor is clean and dry. if it is a concrete floor you should clean it with acid and water and rinse thoroughly allow to dry then paint. follow the directions on the bottle of acid for mixing ratio. the 2 component paint is very strong so when you are using it and when you clean the floor with the acid please make sure you have proper eye protection , all exposed skin is covered and use a respirator mask the fumes are very volatile. you must stir in a catalyst into the paint and let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes then apply with a top quality roller and brush. only mix enough paint that you can use in 30 - 40 minutes and make sure the room or building is very well ventilated. like the acid read the label on the paint and follow the directions. you will have to apply 2 coats. the floor will last a very long time and will stand up to anything better than any other coating.
